Talbot Heath celebrated 128 years in education on Friday. Morning assembly in the hall witnessed the traditional procession of the lighted birthday cake down the aisle accompanied by a hearty rendition of ‘Happy Birthday.’ Former staff and governors later joined the staff and pupils for the service of thanksgiving and prayers in the Lily Pond Quad. In her address Mrs Holloway spoke of the ethos of the school community and prayers were given for all members of Talbot Heath School, past and present.
Special guests were the Upper Sixth who remained for the formal birthday lunch with the staff, where Head of Music, Mr Hill – the longest serving member of staff – gave a witty and thoughtful speech to the leavers. Thanks go to the catering team for the sumptuous birthday meal and best wishes go to all of the sixth form as they begin study leave in three weeks’ time.
