Boxes of Joy

Christmas shoe boxes are as much a part of Christmas at TH as the nativity play, carols and cake… Both the Junior School and the Senior School joined forces once more to decorate, fill and collect Christmas shoeboxes for underprivileged children around the globe. The pupils filled 120 shoeboxes as Christmas gifts for 'Operation Christmas Child’ that is arranged by Samaritans Purse, (they have been organising this commendable cause since 1990.)

As a result of last year’s efforts the Junior girls were thrilled to receive a letter from a missionary friend of Mrs Leahy's who is working in Bosnia, stating that she had been present when a Christmas shoebox was opened and what a wonderful experience it was to see: the shoeboxes are inde ed boxes of joy for both the recipients and givers.

Thanks go to the staff, parents and pupils for their generosity and support of this important charity.
