Dahlicious Day 2015

‘A little nonsense now and then, is cherished by the wisest men.’
― Roald DahlCharlie and the Great Glass Elevator

A little nonsense mixed with dressing-up, fundraising and using imaginations were indeed cherished by the pupils and staff last week as they celebrated their annual Dahlicious Day at Talbot Heath Junior School. Dahlicious Day raises money for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity which provides specialist nurses, care and equipment for children with rare neurological and blood conditions. Sophie from the BFG, crocodiles and even a giant peach were present at the Rothesay Road school for a day celebrating his wonderful characters and books.

The pupils were engaged in a variety of Dahl literacy experiences such as inventing their own Marvellous Medicines and creating new Dahl style characters. Almost £200 was raised for this excellent cause which helps to make children’s lives that little bit better. Thank you to all those who participated (and to the parents for their imaginative help with the wonderful costumes.)
