Talbot Heath

Christmas Cake Decorating Competition

Congratulations to all the girls who took up the challenge and entered this year’s annual Christmas Cake Decorating Competition. The standard of entries was remarkable, and the wonderful display of colourful, imaginative cakes demonstrated a combination of skill, effort and a real sense of fun from all those who took part. The judges had a difficult task on their hands, with everything from an advent calendar with treats behind each door, to Santa on the moon with his penguins! Fortunately, help was at hand in the form of a new iPad voting system this year, the whole school were able to have their say. After combining the school votes with the judging panel’s deliberations, the decision was made to award seven prizes...

In the skills category, first place was awarded to Katie Badawy, Serena Chanoch and Emily Saunders for their three little mice tucked up in bed on Christmas Eve. Second place went to Liza Abdrashitova and third to Anna Toms. In the creativity category, first place was awarded to Lottie Hosking for her gorgeous, white snow village with gingerbread houses. Second place went to Emma Harris and Helana Bartlett and third to Molly Taylor. The overall winners of the coveted ‘Talbot Heath Golden Chef Award’, were Carys Fernyhough and Ellie Burrage for their fabulous gingerbread grotto. Well done and thank you to everyone who took part, and we look forward to more exciting entries next year!
