An array of activities and presentations had been organised to involve, inspire and even educate both parents and their daughters for the open afternoon and evening. Alongside tours of the Second World War bunker and Music suites, were sports demonstrations and exciting science experiments, as well as cake decorating in the newly refurbished Food and Nutrition suite. Mrs Holloway thanked the staff for all the effort that went in to making the Open Event such a success. She said, ‘Our girls were tremendous ambassadors for the school and I was incredibly proud. Many parents were impressed by the exciting vision for the future that the school offers and its progressive thinking. The success of the event is down to the effort of all.’
The Sixth Form opening evening took place the following week, where the current Lower and Upper 5 pupils and outside visitors were invited to spend time with staff to discuss AS and A-Level options and learn about life in the Sixth Form at TH. It was clear that so many students from other schools were opting into Talbot Heath’s reputation for securing university places (many of them Russell Group) for its students. The school is also proud of its pupil specific advice and careers guidance tailored to the girls’ individual needs. As well as the consistently strong A-Level results the school is a centre of excellence, and amongst the top schools nationally, for the Extended Project Qualification.
