Talbot Heath

Christmas Cake Decorating Competition 2017

Christmas 2017 proved to be a bumper year for this TH festive tradition. The cake decorating enthusiasts showed off their talent and creative flair to produce an impressive display of real showstoppers. Somehow, the girls seem to have the ability to exceed all expectations year upon year, and everyone who was involved in the judging agreed that the entries, from both the Junior and Senior Schools, were astounding. The excitement was palpable, as the girls speculated about potential winners...

Congratulations to everyone who entered, the judges were hugely impressed with the entrants' creativity and craftwork.  After combining the results of the iPad voting system with the judging panel’s deliberations, the decision was made to award seven prizes.  In the skill category, first place was awarded to Alice Hann for Santa in his Jacuzzi; second place went to Liza Abdrashitova and Jade Burton, and third to Maisie Chan and Nia Edwards. In the creativity category, first place was awarded to Lily Aitken and Alice Cowley for their three tier, gingerbread creation; second place went to Anabelle Wilkes and Sophie Bateman, and third to Savannah and Lauren Berridge.

The overall winners of the coveted ‘Talbot Heath Golden Chef Award’ were Georgina Loew, Mia Read and Emily Boullin for their fabulous stacked snowman, penguin and Santa cake: such an original idea and demonstration of teamwork.  Well done and thanks go to everyone who took part. Thanks also go to Joy Moran for organising this popular annual event.
