Lower 6 Psychology Residential Workshop

On June 27th, the TH Lower Sixth Psychology students embarked on an exciting residential trip to Bristol, packed with engaging workshops and hands-on learning experiences.

The day began with a captivating hypnotherapy workshop led by Sharon Stiles. Students were fascinated by her clear and engaging explanation of the theories behind hypnotherapy, gaining a deeper understanding of how and why it can be such an effective therapeutic approach.

In the afternoon, students visited We The Curious, Bristol’s renowned science and arts centre. They explored a wide range of interactive exhibits, even discovering how running could be used to generate sand! As part of their visit, they also took part in a psychology workshop tailored specifically to their A-level specification, during which they conducted their own mini research project — putting theory into practice in a real-world setting.

To round off the day, the group enjoyed a visit to an escape room, where both teams successfully completed the challenge within the 60-minute time limit.

With fantastic weather and a weekend full of memorable, enriching activities, the trip was both educational and enjoyable — bringing psychology to life outside the classroom.

Thanks go to Govina Basra and Celia hall for organising and accompanying the visit.
