Talbot Heath

Continued Sweep of Success for Indoor Rowers

Talbot Heath have succeeded in retaining the County title in all year groups. Huge congratulations go to the year 7, 8 and 9 indoor rowing crews who gained the gold medal in all of their team events. Talbot Heath used their scores from the National Rowing Championships to rank them in the County competition.

The year 7 team of Amelia Edwards, Faith Bellamy, Hannah Glatter and Lillie Henning, as reserve, achieved the County gold medal for their team relay and Amelia Edwards achieved silver in the individual event.

Also achieving a team gold for their relay performance were the year 8 team, consisting of Emmeline Ansell, Izzy Wedderburn, Tamarac Qaddoura and Aimee Parker. There were fantastic individual performances from all of the girls but a particular mention goes to Emmeline who finished 4th in the Country with a PB, and also took County gold. Izzy , who was new to the sport this year, finished top 20 in the Country and 2nd in the County.

Jemma Lewis, Charlie Sidaway, Eden Luke and Carys Fernyhough were the year 9 team and again took County gold in the team relay. This was a particularly tough event as the girls had to row for 4 minutes each. Jemma Lewis took the individual gold, Charlie Sidaway silver and Eden Luke bronze. This rowing team also competed in the concept 2 online schools league this year and are currently ranked 1st in the Country.

Yet again a fantastic year for the Talbot Heath indoor rowing team - well done!
