The European flag was flying over Talbot Heath School for the Linguists’ Dinner at the beginning of March. The annual evening event, organised by the MFL department, welcomed a hundred members of the school community to experience a taste of the Continent.
Their taste buds were not only stimulated by a 4 star dinner but ears and eyes were equally charmed by a cultural onslaught. After weeks of rehearsals, the girls treated staff, parents and pupils to dance, song and sketch, expertly hosted by Anita Sadeghi-Niaraki. The entertainment included extracts of Lorca performed by the L6 Theatre Studies students, Tarantella and Flamenco, and numbers by Schumann. The audience was very appreciative but would have gone home unsatisfied had the evening not ended with the indispensable Cancan!
Well done to all of the girls who took part and to the superb chefs who brought a taste of the continent to Dorset. Thank you to Mrs Klemz for organising this cosmopolitan celebration.
If you have missed this fun event this time, don't make the same mistake again!
