A warm welcome was offered to the 100 plus visitors that attended the Junior and Senior open evening at Talbot Heath recently. Visitors from 40 schools in the region attended the event, including prospective pupils from Surrey and Southampton. Mrs Holloway thanked the staff for all the effort that went in to making the Open Event such a success. She said, ‘Our girls were tremendous ambassadors for the school and I was incredibly proud. Many parents were impressed by the exciting vision for the future that the school offers and its progressive thinking. The success of the event is down to the effort of all.’
Activities and presentations were organised for the visiting families to inform, and inspire. The Forest School had a warming fire in the woods; explosions were performed in the science centre and play rehearsals were in full swing in the drama studios. Sports demonstrations, cake decorating and marching robots all highlighted exciting elements of the curriculum on offer.
The Sixth Form opening evening took also place recently, where the current Upper 5 pupils and outside visitors were invited to spend time with staff to discuss AS and A-Level options and learn about life in the Sixth Form at TH. It was clear that so many students from other schools were opting into Talbot Heath’s reputation for securing university places (many of them Russell Group) for its students. The school is also proud of its excellent advice and careers guidance tailored to the girls’ individual needs. As well as the strong A-Level results the school are a centre of excellence for the Extended Project Qualification; Talbot Heath is proud of it place in the top ten nationally for outstanding EPQ results.
Thanks go to the staff for their inexhaustible enthusiasm and commitment to the school and especially to the girls who volunteered to make the open evenings such a success and who are always wonderful ambassadors.
