At the end of November, the Junior school were excited to welcome back Shoo Rayner, the highly talented children's author and Talbot Heath's Patron of Reading.
Throughout the day, he entertained all age groups with his hilarious readings from his books and he explained how he develops his ideas from initial thoughts to a finished product. His books are full of his amazing illustrations and the pupils, and teachers, were captivated by his artistic skill. His quick fire sketches that developed, almost like magic, with a flick of his pen onto plain sugar paper, were met with gasps of appreciation. Shoo reminded the children that to be successful at anything, including drawing, you need to practise.
At the end of the day, Shoo stayed to sell some of his books to the pupils and he spent time chatting to everyone and signing them with his smart autograph.
We look forward to welcoming him back in 2017.
