We are delighted that you are considering Talbot Heath School for your daughter. We run regular open events which are a wonderful opportunity to see the School in action, view the facilities and meet with staff and pupils. You are also most welcome to arrange an individual tour of the school.

Nursery and Kindergarten

Nursery and Kindergarten Admissions Timeline 

In EYFS, we take a “stage not age” approach to your daughter’s learning, we are guided by them and you throughout their journey in these formative years. 

Applications for Nursery and Kindergarten can be submitted throughout the year. Places are subject to availability/waiting lists.  

  • Nursery places are available for girls aged between 2 and 3.
  • Kindergarten places are available for aged between 3 – 5.

Junior School
(Reception to Year 6)

Once you have registered your daughter, she will be invited to join us for two consecutive taster days where she will spend time in class and also sit her entry assessments.

Parents who would like to register their daughter can do so at any time; prompt registration is recommended to avoid disappointment due to potential waiting lists. See timeline of admissions below. The admissions team are keen to ensure that our admissions process is straightforward and smooth for all prospective parents and pupils.

Junior School Admissions Timeline 

Applications for Junior School can be submitted throughout the year, places are subject to availability/waiting lists. Senior School

Tours of the Senior School will be carried out by our Head of Admissions, Mrs Rona Campbell-McLean. Boarding families may wish to spend additional time touring the Boarding House. Tours of the main school usually last around 1 hour, if we include the boarding house, please allow 1.5 hours. Your tour will include 15 minutes with our Headteacher to ask any questions you may have about your daughter’s education.

We encourage all prospective pupils to experience at least one Taster Day prior to joining Talbot Heath. Arrangements can also be made for an overnight/weekend stay for prospective boarders.

External candidates for Senior School will sit an entrance exam and must achieve our minimum academic standard before they are offered a place. As a through School, pupils from our Junior School will be assessed on an ongoing basis and guaranteed a place in our Senior School if they meet the criteria listed in our whole School admissions policy linked below.

If your daughter is looking for an in-year entry to the Senior School, she will be invited to sit our entrance test at the start of her taster day.

 Senior School Admissions Timeline (2027 entry):

  • Deadline to register for a place in Year 7/8/9/10 2027 (please indicate if you would like your daughter to be considered for a scholarship) is 1st November 2026.
  • Deadline to submit scholarship portfolios: Sport, Art, Drama, Music, All Rounder (minimum of two disciplines), Tennis Academy & Swimming Academy – is 1st December 2026.
  • CAT 4 testing for external candidates takes place during the Autumn term (usually in November after the closing date for applications).
  • Selected candidates are invited to sit Academic test papers based on the outcome of the CAT 4 entrance tests. The Academic test papers are written papers in Maths & English with each paper being 1 hour in length.
  • Scholarship invitations sent to successful scholarship applicants (all other disciplines) by 1st January 2027 with assessments taking place at the end of January.
  • Offers sent to arrive during February with acceptances requested no later 6th March 2027.

sixth form

Tours of the Sixth Form will be carried out by a pupil in the Sixth Form. Boarding families may wish to spend additional time touring the Boarding House. Tours of the main school usually last around 1 hour, if we include the boarding house, please allow 1.5 hours. Your tour will include 15 minutes with our Headteacher to ask any questions you may have about your daughter’s education. If you would like to speak to a subject specific teacher during your tour, please let us know when booking and we will endeavour to facilitate your request.

Sixth Form Admissions Timeline (2027 Entry)

Deadline to register for a place in 6th Form is – 30th October 2026. Testing and scholarship assessments for entry to the Sixth Form will take place in Mid November 2026 with offers being sent to arrive by 1st December 2026. Acceptances are due by the end of January 2027.
