The Big Interview – Careers Event Success

On Monday 1st December, our U5 and Sixth Form students took part in an inspiring Careers event: The Big Interview. This was a unique opportunity for the girls to experience a live 1:1 interview with employers from our local business community.

For many, it was their first ever interview and the atmosphere was filled with nervous excitement as they waited for their turn. Each student had a fifteen-minute slot with professionals from a wide range of fields, including medicine, finance, business, law, the armed forces, recruitment, and education.

Without exception, the girls emerged from their interviews beaming with pride at what they had achieved. Employers gave glowing feedback, praising them as confident, articulate, well-prepared, diverse, and highly employable. It was a fantastic morning and we couldn’t have been prouder.

The second part of the event focused on networking skills. Students had the chance to interview junior doctors, not only about their medical careers but also about university life, living away from home, and starting out in a new profession. These conversations gave the girls valuable insights and boosted their confidence in asking thoughtful questions in a formal setting.

This event was a resounding success, equipping our students with skills and experiences that will serve them well in their future careers.
