Talbot Heath School Celebrates Fourth Consecutive Gold School Games Mark Award

Talbot Heath School is proud to announce that it has once again been awarded the prestigious Gold School Games Mark for 2025–26 — marking the fourth consecutive year the school has achieved the highest accolade.

The School Games Mark is a national award scheme that recognises schools for their commitment to the development of competition, participation and leadership opportunities in sport and physical activity. Achieving Gold status for four years running reflects Talbot Heath’s continued dedication to providing an inclusive and inspiring sporting environment for every pupil.

Over recent years, the PE department has worked tirelessly to broaden opportunities for students to engage in physical activity in ways that support both physical and mental wellbeing. Alongside a wide-ranging sports programme, the school has introduced additional wellbeing initiatives through the curriculum, fitness-for-wellbeing sessions, and lunchtime wellbeing activity equipment stores designed to encourage active play and positive social interaction.

The award also recognises the school’s strong focus on student leadership, with increasing opportunities for pupils to take on responsibilities within sport and physical activity across the school community.

Lou Lindon, Head of Sport at Talbot Heath School, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to receive the Gold School Games Mark for the fourth consecutive year. This achievement is testament to the passion, dedication and hard work of our PE department, who consistently go above and beyond to create inclusive opportunities that educate and inspire our young people to develop a healthy relationship with physical activity.

“We are especially proud of the additional wellbeing opportunities we have introduced in recent years, ensuring that every student can find ways to enjoy being active, build confidence and support their overall wellbeing. A huge thank you must go to the entire PE team for their continued commitment and enthusiasm, as well as to our wider school community for their ongoing support.”

Ross Cameron, Head of Talbot Heath School, added:

“At Talbot Heath, we believe sport and wellbeing play a vital role in developing confident, resilient and adventurous young people. To achieve Gold status for a fourth consecutive year is a remarkable accomplishment and reflects the school’s commitment to providing opportunities for every pupil to thrive.

“I would like to congratulate Lou Lindon and the entire PE team for their exceptional work and dedication. Their passion has created a culture where participation, leadership, teamwork and wellbeing are truly valued, and this national recognition is richly deserved.”
