Talbot Heath School Celebrates Outstanding GCSE Results Above National Averages

Talbot Heath School is celebrating another year of exceptional GCSE success, with pupils achieving results significantly above national averages and continuing the school’s longstanding tradition of academic excellence.

This year’s results once again demonstrate the strength of teaching and learning at Talbot Heath, with outcomes substantially ahead of national benchmarks and reflecting the school’s consistent record of high academic achievement.

An impressive 37.4% of all GCSE grades were awarded at grades 9-7, considerably higher than the national average of 23.1%. Meanwhile, 89.5% of grades achieved were at grades 9-4, compared with the national average of 70.7%.

The school’s highest achievers also excelled, with 10% of all GCSE grades awarded at Grade 9, the highest grade available and a standard that exceeds the former A*.

These results reinforce Talbot Heath’s reputation for academic excellence and build upon a sustained pattern of strong outcomes year after year.

Ross Cameron, Head of Talbot Heath School, said:

“We are really proud of all the students who achieved such impressive results this morning. They are the reward for years of hard work and a reflection of the vibrant, ambitious and supportive culture we nurture at Talbot Heath.

Our students continue to achieve consistently excellent outcomes year after year, and these results build on that proud tradition. Coupled with our position as Dorset’s No.1 girls’ school for A Level results this year, they demonstrate what can be achieved when young people are inspired to aim high and fulfil their potential.

My congratulations go to every student. We are incredibly proud of all you have achieved and excited to see where your talents take you next.”

The GCSE success comes alongside Talbot Heath’s status as Dorset’s No.1 performing girls’ school for A Level results based on the proportion of A* and A grades achieved compared to published results, underlining the exceptional educational journey pupils experience from GCSE through to Sixth Form.

Beyond the headline figures, the results reflect the school’s commitment to nurturing intellectually curious, confident and ambitious young people who are equipped to thrive in the next stage of their education and beyond.

As students celebrate their achievements, many will now look ahead to joining Talbot Heath’s thriving Sixth Form, where they will continue to benefit from the school’s culture of aspiration, opportunity and achievement.
