Annual Hockey Report 2024-2025
The 2024-2025 hockey season has been a fantastic journey for our teams, marked by outstanding performances, personal achievements, and tremendous growth across all age groups.
Under 18 Team
The U18 team has been nothing short of exceptional this year, maintaining a perfect 100%-win rate. Notably, Amy R and Lexie B have represented the County in numerous matches, showcasing their elite skills on the astro. As always, the sixth-form players have been exemplary in their efforts, displaying not just skill but a competitive edge that has made them role models for younger players. While we are sad to see them leave, we wish them all the best in their future hockey endeavours.
Under 16 and Under 15 Teams
Both the U16 and U15 teams also boasted a 100%-win rate this season. Several players took on the challenge of playing up an age group, joining the U18s for some high-level competition. Standout performers like Eve F, Lexie G, and Bella C have excelled while playing for the County squad. The U15 team, in particular, demonstrated remarkable resilience, taking on new opposition with confidence and determination.
Under 14 Team
The U14 team had an incredibly strong season, winning all local matches and finishing a very respectable third place in the County Cup. One of the highlights of the season was Sophie D breaking into the County squad for the first time. Her development and performances have been a huge source of pride for the school.
Under 13 & Under 12 Teams
Both U13 and U12 teams had a more mixed season but showed significant promise. Both teams entered the County Tournaments, where they displayed grit and resilience. The U13s fought hard in the plate final at Bryanston, narrowly losing 1-0 to Sherborne after a long day of hockey. Meanwhile, the U12s had an impressive showing at their own County Competition, winning games against Parkstone Grammar and Gillingham before finishing third in the County Tournament. A special mention goes to Tilly G, our County Player, for her dedication and skill.
Key Achievements
Lexie G continues to impress as she works her way toward becoming a future England Goalkeeper. After recovering from injury, she has returned to training and playing with the UK Lions squad. We wish her continued success on this exciting journey. It is worth noting that a total of 103 girls played across all age groups this season, reflecting the growing participation and enthusiasm for hockey within the school.
The 2024-2025 season has been a remarkable success for our hockey teams, with impressive individual performances, strong team efforts, and plenty of exciting developments on the horizon. We look forward to even greater achievements in the coming seasons and congratulate all players, coaches, and supporters for their contributions to this fantastic season.
