Boy Band Hits the right notes with music and inspirational discussion

On Thursday 18th September, Talbot Heath was delighted to welcome As1One, the world’s first Israeli–Palestinian pop group, for a truly memorable day of music and discussion. Made up of six young men – three Israeli and three Palestinian, representing Muslim, Christian and Jewish faiths – As1One use music as a universal language to promote unity, friendship and understanding. Our students were treated to a vibrant live performance, followed by a thought-provoking session on mental health, discrimination and diversity, where the band shared their personal stories and invited pupils to engage in an open Q&A. The experience provided a powerful opportunity for students to reflect on resilience, acceptance and the importance of celebrating differences. To round off their visit, the band also led an inspiring music workshop with our GCSE Music students, giving them valuable insight into collaboration and creativity on a global stage.
