Celebrating women in Science

It has been exciting to hear the birds singing around site over the past week; there are certainly signs of spring in the air. We were delighted to celebrate the International Day for Women in Science at the school on Friday; our Science leads spoke about the female scientists who had inspired them, many of whom had only received acknowledgement for their discoveries years after their groundbreaking findings.

Talbot Heath has a long tradition of producing outstanding scientists, many of whom have received international recognition for their pioneering work. We are proud of the fact that so many of our pupils pursue careers in these fields; their passion for scientific discovery has been fostered during their time with us and has shaped their professional lives.

Our vision to devise pioneering curriculum strands on material science and sustainability for all key stages, working in tandem with universities and business, will ensure that we remain at the cutting edge of science education.

Wishing you all a very positive final week of this half term.
