The Medical Society students are running both a bake sale this week and a dissection lab, next Tuesday, to raise money for the Malaria Consortium. Malaria is a neglected cause, often forgotten in the turbulent world of today. Their charity selection was based on research by the altruistic think-tank GiveWell. GiveWell listed the Malaria Consortium to be one of the most efficient, high-impact charities, helping the greatest number of people for the lowest cost.
They hope through running these two events in school, students will greatly benefit from the experience – especially the dissection lab where the MedSoc girls will demonstrate how to dissect hearts, eyes and kidneys to the younger year groups! They will also be able to make a valuable contribution to this charity.
Thanks go to the pupils and to Mrs Poulton for their time and support.
