Talbot Heath Celebrates Another Year of Exceptional A Level Results

Talbot Heath School is celebrating another year of exceptional A Level results, with 37% of all grades awarded at A* or A—well above the national average—and 71% of grades at A* to B. In a year where OFQUAL has confirmed that grading has returned to pre-pandemic standards, this level of attainment is particularly impressive.

Individual highlights

The school’s two Head Girls, Daisy and Jessi, achieved a combined total of six A grades and three A* grades between them, securing places to read Geography and Law respectively. Deputy Head Chloe takes up a place in the prestigious Norland College and Deputy Head Girl, Erin, combined her 3 A grades with outstanding sporting success. Erin has represented her school, county and GB in cross country and distance running. Erin has won 3 golds competing for GB at the European Biathle Championships. She came 1st in the U19 individual, making her European Champion, also winning team gold. The success of all our students reflects their hard work, the dedication of staff, and the unwavering support of parents.

Strength in STEM

STEM subjects continue to be a standout strength at Talbot Heath. This year, 50% of grades in Chemistry and Physics were A* or A, while Mathematics saw an outstanding 85% of grades at A* or A. The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which encourages independent research and critical thinking, achieved a 100% A* to A success rate. These results buck national trends and highlight the school’s commitment to encouraging girls in science and mathematics. Talbot Heath’s vibrant Sixth Form continues to grow, with new courses in Business Studies and Sociology, an innovative community work experience scheme to ensure students are career-ready, and a rich enrichment programme including Sports Leader qualifications.

Headteacher Tracy Harris commented, “We are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements this year. Their results are a testament to their resilience, ambition, and the nurturing environment we strive to provide at Talbot Heath. Our Sixth Form continues to grow in strength and innovation, preparing students not just for university, but for life beyond education.” With such strong outcomes and a commitment to holistic development, Talbot Heath remains a leading choice for girls seeking academic excellence and personal growth.
