What an incredible few days of competition for TH’s A and B teams at the National Tennis Finals, playing in the Aberdare Cup matches and proudly representing Talbot Heath and our Tennis Academy partnership with @west_hants_tennis
The competition took place at the Lexus Nottingham Tennis Centre, and proved to be thrilling from the start… The A team kicked off with a strong 10-2 win against Kings High, Warwick, followed by a nail-biting 7-6 victory over Queenswood B. They progressed to the national semi-finals, ultimately finishing 4th in the country after a high-quality battle against Queenswood A in the 3rd/4th place playoff.
The B team faced a tough opening match against Putney High (2-10), but bounced back with a phenomenal 12-0 win over Oxford High. They continued their momentum, defeating Stonyhurst and delivering an outstanding 8-2 win over Kings High in the 9th/10th place playoff, securing 9th place nationally.
Both teams demonstrated exceptional determination, skill and resilience, often digging deep to turn matches around and perform at the highest level.
A huge congratulations to all the players, coaches, and support staff for this fantastic achievement — and special thanks to Sarah Camp and Liz Fox for their dedication and leadership throughout the tournament.
