Young ladies at Talbot Heath had a simply delightful time last week honouring Jane Austen’s 250th birthday with a series of Regency-inspired festivities.
The week began with Lower 5 enjoying the 2020 film adaptation of Emma — there was plenty of swooning over Mr Knightley! On Wednesday, gossips dived into the world of Regency scandals and had great fun dressing up paper Jane Austens. Thursday witnessed exploring the art of needlework, and of course those with [and without] nimble feet completed the week in true Austen style with some elegant Regency dancing.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and helped organise these events; particular thanks go to Austen super-fan, Mrs Cox.
Happy birthday, Miss Austen!
