Over the Easter holidays the senior school ski trip took place with a group comprised of 91 pupils and staff, travelling to Pas de la Casa in Andorra. This was a new resort for the school to visit and didn’t disappoint.
Throughout the week we had superb ski conditions with good snow across the resort and wall to wall blue skies and sunshine. The 80 students were split into ability groups and spent 6 hours a day skiing with their instructors, enjoying the vast range of skiing from green pistes through to black mogul runs and even a kids’ forest park with jumps and instruments to play as you skied past! The students loved being taught and had lots of opportunities to improve their techniques through trying out skills, led by their instructors. Some of the groups even got the chance to experience a ski slalom race on the final day. The Glandvilara was both picturesque and challenging for all levels of ski experience.
The apres ski was lots of fun with all the girls enjoying themselves. We had a couple of evenings shopping in Pas de la Casa as well as the main capital, Andorra La Vella. We also spent evenings swimming and ice skating. One evening we enjoyed a beautiful meal out at a pizzeria in Andorra la Vella where the girls were able to socialise and make new friends.
Overall the week was a huge success, all the students achieved a ski award for their brilliant skiing efforts. Many of the girls made new friends and enjoyed the culture of another country. It was great to see different age groups across senior school getting on together and supporting each other throughout the week. Many of the new skiers loved their experience and all said they would love to ski again! Pas de la Casa didn’t disappoint and we will look forward to returning there again in the future.
