This World Book Day was dedicated to the Queen of Crime – Agatha Christie. Our assembly was interrupted this morning by Miss Harris to announce that a body had been discovered in the library! We needed our best detectives on the case so U3 and L4 were divided into groups and taken to the HUB to help with the investigation. They needed their inference and deduction skills to work out which department the murder weapon came from, their mathematical skills to work out the heights of the two murderers, their forensic skills to analyse the ink used in the threatening letter and finally their synthesising skills to put all this together alongside further witness statements to make their final accusations. Did they find the murderers? Or did they get away with it? All will be revealed soon…

Thank you to everyone who took part and supported this event. An extra special mention to Mrs Jenner and Mrs Cowgill (or should I say Poirot?) for helping me make this a World Book Day to remember. Mrs Cox aka Tuppence Beresford.

What an amazing start to World Book Day! We loved welcoming parents into our classrooms. The children had a brilliant time reading, chatting about stories and sharing their favourite books with the people they care about. Thank you so much to everyone who joined us. The costumes were absolutely fantastic – everything from Care-a lot bear, Flopsy Bunny, Emmeline Pankhurst, Little Red Riding Hood to Daisy from Murder Most Unladylike. The creativity on display was incredible!
We also celebrated writing in Year 6 this week; A huge well done to our talented Year 6 writers, who recently entered a writing competition and will soon have their work published. This is such an exciting achievement and we can’t wait to see their stories in print.
