Talbot Heath was invaded by Vikings when Erik Erikson of Longship Trading arrived to teach the children all about this fascinating period of our history this week.
He brought with him a multitude of artefacts that the children could touch and use. They tried on clothing, jewellery, shoes and skins; they blew horns, struck Viking silver coins with a hammer and learnt about families, Viking battles, law and order.
Erik ate in the dining room with the children at lunch time and compared his normal Viking food with their modern food.
Our annual History Day when the children participate in workshops about a period of our history is always eagerly anticipated. The children looked splendid in their costumes and had an informative and fun day.
