Harvest Festival was held at Talbot Heath School on Wednesday 15th October. Once again the whole school community came together to celebrate this seasonal festival. The service was taken by The Revd Robert Prance, his theme was ‘being thankful’. A delightful story was told about how, when he was a young child living in the countryside, the farmer left a small section of the field not harvested because there was a family of field mice living in the cornfield.
Members of the Junior and Senior School led the traditional singing of ‘We plough the fields and scatter’, along with readings and prayers. The Pre Prep gave a beautiful rendition of ‘Easy Peasy Harvest’ and the Junior School sang ‘Who put the Colours in the Rainbow’. A wonderful display of produce filled the stage and the generosity of the students was much appreciated by the local charity, the Bournemouth Women’s Refuge.
