On a bright and sunny morning Year 6 along with Mrs Pugh, Mrs Leahy, Mrs Davies and Mrs Diment set off for their two night stay at ‘Little Canada’ the PGL centre on the IOW.
We all stayed in en-suite log cabins, set in woodland on the banks of the creek. Everyone joined in the daring activities: learning how to survive in the wilderness, rock climbing, abseiling, zip wiring, jumping through the tree tops on a trapeze and almost canoeing! Having all changed into damp wetsuits, (yuck) cagoules, life jackets and rather fetching helmets, a gale blew in and so we had to unchange! However, undaunted, we carried on with archery and a rather muddy assault course.
We all enjoyed a camp fire and scavenger hunt in the evenings, visiting the shop and having chats and treats in our cabins (even the teachers!)
It was a great trip and when we returned we invited our parents and the Year 5s to tea in the Jubilee Hall to show them all the amazing photos, tell them our achievements and sing them the best songs.
Thank you to all the teachers for taking us and remember, Bananas of the World Unite!
