As part of our innovative Fitness for Wellbeing curriculum, we were delighted to welcome Hayley Field – Lifestyle Ninja and Health Coach – to Talbot Heath to speak with our U4 students about what it truly means to be healthy.
Hayley brought energy, honesty and a fresh perspective to her session, tackling the misconceptions so often faced by teenage girls when it comes to health, fitness and self-worth. Her empowering message focused on celebrating what our bodies can do, rather than how they look – and helping young women understand the realities of how their bodies grow and change as they move through adolescence.
“Good health is a resilience behaviour,” Hayley shared. “You can’t avoid setbacks – but being in good health physically, mentally and emotionally will make them easier to deal with.”
Hayley’s session was packed with inspiration and real-world wisdom. She spoke openly about her own challenges and how building resilience has shaped her approach to life. Her key themes included:
- Fueling your body for energy and strength, not just appearance
- Lifting weights and finding power in physical capability
- Celebrating success in stretchy leggings, not skinny jeans
- Building health the right way – balancing neural, emotional, intellectual, social and physical wellbeing
She also introduced the girls to the concept of “Type 2 Fun” – the idea that pushing beyond your comfort zone might feel tough in the moment, but it’s where growth, confidence and real pride are born.
Hayley said. “As a Health Coach, I think it’s really important to show young girls that our bodies are amazing, and to celebrate them for what they can do, rather than what they look like. I hope I inspired the girls to take on a few challenges of their own, and prove to themselves that they are capable of awesome things!”
The session was part of the Fitness for Wellbeing programme, developed by our Head of Sport, Louise Lindon, to enhance the overall health and wellbeing of students at Talbot Heath. The curriculum is designed to build lifelong positive habits, encourage resilience and promote a holistic understanding of fitness beyond physical appearance.
🧠💪 Thank you, Hayley, for showing our students that real strength starts from the inside out.
