Incoming Head from April 2026 – Mr Ross Cameron
We are delighted that Ross Cameron will join Talbot Heath School as Headteacher from April 2026. He joins us with a strong background in independent school leadership across a variety of schools. Having graduated from the University of Southampton with a First-Class Honours degree in History, Ross initially worked outside education before pursuing his PGCE at UCL and then his first teaching post at Millfield School in Somerset. His leadership experience encompasses a variety of roles in diverse settings, such as Redmaids’ High School in Bristol, and latterly The Peterborough School, where he has been the Deputy Headmaster for thirteen years. Ross also served as Governor at a primary school in Bristol, an Assistant Examiner of A Level History for OCR, and a junior rugby coach at club level. Ross is currently a serving ISI inspector, has recently sat on a central committee of one of the independent schools’ associations, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Ross chose a career in education consciously, in order to pursue his academic and sporting interests, and his enthusiasm for inspiring students in these fields. Throughout his career, Ross has always placed students at the heart of everything he does and is passionate about education in its broadest sense. He has a particular interest in the future of teaching and learning, and in the holistic education of children and young adults in a supportive and empathetic values-based community. Ross is committed to
raising aspirations and encouraging students to aim high and challenge themselves to achieve their full potential regardless of background. In his different roles he has always championed independence of thought, critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, resilience, and aspiration.
Ross professes to feeling a deep connection with the values so closely associated with Talbot Heath School, and particularly the curious minds, generous hearts and adventurous spirits nurtured within our community.
