Academic Life

Pupils are extremely well educated, in accordance with the school’s aims. ISI March 2011

At Talbot Heath School pupils are encouraged and supported to achieve great things in their academic studies. We do not believe in a one size fits all approach to the curriculum, and the GCSE and A level option blocks are designed each year around our students’ choices.

Pupils who come to us comment upon the dedication of our staff in supporting them both in and outside of lessons. Pupils throughout the School benefit from working in small groups and individual attention from their teachers.

Our curriculum evolves to meet the needs of our pupils. GCSE Physical Education and Drama were introduced in September 2012, as was A Level Psychology after discussions with parents and pupils. Global Citizenship lessons in Years 7 and 8 have allowed pupils to explore topical issues.

Girls School Bournemouth

In lessons girls are encouraged to question, investigate and challenge, exploring and debating in small classes where they are able to express themselves openly and with confidence whatever their level of ability.

We are justifiably proud of our pupils’ results at GCSE and A level. Talbot Heath School is one of the top girls' schools in the UK consistently gaining outstanding success at GCSE and A Level.

Our pupils leave the school with a strong work ethic and a desire to strive for excellence.

Our fantastic school facilities provide an ideal academic and social life for pupils whose parents are situated in the local Bournemouth,  Poole and Dorset areas. With a high population of military families living within the Dorset area we also encourage parents in the armed forces to benefit from our military discounts and sponsorships.
