Congratulations to all the girls who took up the challenge and entered this year’s annual Christmas Cake Decorating Competition. The standard of entries was remarkable, and the wonderful display of colourful, imaginative cakes demonstrated a combination of skill, effort and a real sense of fun from all those who took part. The judges had a difficult task on their hands, with everything from a charity Christmas shoebox, to an entire ski slope!
Fortunately, help was at hand in the form of the iPad voting system again this year, the whole school were able to have their say. After combining the school votes with the judging panel’s deliberations, the decision was made to award seven prizes. In the skills category, first place was awarded to Ava Smith for her gravity defying Christmas pudding and pouring custard cake. Second place went to Nia Edwards and Maisie Chan and third to Alice Cowley and Lily Aiken.
In the creativity category, first place was awarded to Amelia Tibbs and Daisy Clough for their two tier fox on a trampoline cake, reminiscent of a certain, rather popular, festive advertisement! Second place went to Florence Bestford and Ellen and third to Alice Hann. The overall winner of the coveted ‘Talbot Heath Golden Chef Award’, was Liza Abdrashitova for her spectacular, five tier Christmas chocolate extravaganza. Well done and thank you to everyone who took part, and we look forward to more exciting entries next year!
