Over 82,000 sixth form pupils from across the country took part in the UKMT Senior Maths Challenge, which is run by the UK Mathematics Trust, in November. The challenge involves answering complex problems not usually encountered in the normal curriculum, requiring thought and application to solve.
At Talbot Heath 13 girls received Bronze certificates and 4 received Silver certificates; an excellent achievement.
The Silver achievers were Katy Zung and Jessica Lau in Lower Six, and Janice Lam and Lowri Fernyhough in Upper Six. Lowri was best in the school; she is aiming to study Law at university next year.
Well done to all our mathematicians.
