Girls Thrive Here

As an all-girls school, Talbot Heath offers an environment where pupils can truly flourish. Research shows that girls perform better academically and develop greater confidence in single-sex schools.

At Talbot Heath School, girls are encouraged to think independently, explore new ideas, and develop leadership skills across all subjects – from STEM to the creative arts.

Talbot Heath girls are inspired to pursue ambitious academic goals, supported by expert teachers and exceptional facilities.

No Exeats – Complete Continuity of Care

We understand how important it is for International families to know their daughters are safe, settled and supported throughout term time. At Talbot Heath, there are no exeat weekends – girls stay in school under the care of our boarding team, ensuring a calm and consistent routine.

Visas
We use a professional immigration partner to provide comprehensive support for any pupils and families requiring a visa to study in the UK.

Boarding Life

Our boarding community is warm, relaxed and friendly – a true home from home.

Weekends are filled with fun and variety, including:

  • Visits to adventure parks and local sights such as the famous Durdle Door on the Jurassic Coast
  • Day trips to London, including theatre visits and shopping excursions
  • Beach trips – we are just a one-mile walk from 12 miles of golden sandy beaches
  • Trips into Bournemouth town centre, with its cafés, cinemas and restaurants

Boarders can also:

  • Play sports on-site outside of school hours
  • Enjoy exclusive use of our swimming pool on Sunday afternoons
  • Invite their day-pupil friends to visit, or visit their friends’ families nearby

When girls are unwell, they are cared for in the boarding house with warmth and professionalism.

Girls work hard during the week, but evenings and weekends offer balance. They are encouraged to relax and join group activities such as crafts, yoga, baking, board games and sport. We believe our boarding environment is less pressurised than many schools, and our pupils are genuinely happy, confident and well-supported.

We know that music is a big part of life for many girls. Boarders have access to multiple pianos in the boarding house, and our dedicated music building on site offers practice rooms, ensembles and expert tuition to help every musician thrive.

Pastoral Care You Can Trust

Our boarding staff are purely pastoral – not teachers. They are dedicated entirely to the wellbeing of every girl.
During school hours, highly skilled teachers focus on academic progress; after lessons, boarding staff ensure that girls are cared for, listened to and nurtured.

We provide:

  • A fully immersive English environment
  • EAL and language support to build confidence
  • English tutor and SENCo assistance for extra help when needed
  • The option to take GCSE exams in their first language
  • Healthy, cosmopolitan menus that cater to International tastes while encouraging new experiences

Girls also gain independence through daily life – managing their laundry, helping with cooking at weekends, and developing practical life skills in a supportive atmosphere.
