Senior School 11-16

Senior School should be an exciting adventure for young people; it should be the springboard for their hopes and dreams; it should open their eyes to new subjects and possibilities and should develop their self-confidence and character.

At Talbot Heath Senior School we welcome girls from our Junior School, as well as from a wide range of schools locally, nationally and internationally. Our pupils are broad in their interests and personalities but are united in their positive attitude to education. Pupils can be themselves within the school environment, which is especially important during adolescence.

At TH it is ‘cool to like school.’ Pupils give their best in every field, whether in the classroom, on the sports field, on stage or while fundraising. Achievements are celebrated within a supportive environment; our holistic approach to education ensures that girls flourish inside and outside of school.

Our focus is on developing a love of learning and intellectual curiosity in our pupils that will last a lifetime. We believe that pupils and staff should not be crushed by the weight of relentless targets; high standards and outcomes can be achieved without education becoming a joyless treadmill.
The learning environment is purposeful but warm and relaxed. Visitors comment on the laughter and smiles that greet them around the school. The rapport between pupils and staff, as well as between pupils themselves, is excellent. There is a strong sense of community and teamwork.

Pupils and staff have great affection for their school and take great pride in it.

Ours is an education that prepares pupils for the exciting future that awaits them. They leave us as principled, confident, resilient and knowledgeable young women, ready to take their place in a global society.

“A gem of a school that is making waves in the education world thanks to its inspiring head and exciting approach to learning. Girls get a first-class education in a safe, caring and encouraging environment – and the school excels at supporting talented sport and music specialists too.”
