TH Tennis Team Retains Title

The 2017 sports season has closed with a tennis victory once again for the Talbot Heath and West Hants tennis team who have retained their National tennis title. This competition started with 2500 schools being entered from around the UK and Talbot Heath holds its status as Number 1 Girls Tennis School in the country. The TH girls qualified in the summer term against local schools, which took them through to the knockout stage followed by the November Regional competition at Exeter. The National finals took place in Bolton at the start of December and both the year 7 and 8, and 9 and 10 teams qualified for the event.

The year 7 and 8 team breezed through to the final match on the Sunday vs Queenswood. The girls put up a phenomenal battle but Queenswood triumphed to take the national title with TH coming runners up. The year 9 and 10 team won all their games (12-0) and secured the winning title vs Culford School. Infact, the year 9 and 10 team didn't lose a game throughout the whole process, right from April through to December!

Congratulations to both teams and a huge thank you and congratulations to the fantastic coaching team at West Hants Club who oversee the tennis aspect of the academy programme, and to TH sport staff, Chloe McGregor and Sarah Camp, who accompanied the teams. A fabulous end to the year!
